Eike Batista and Company
EBX Group is Eike Batista company which serves as the umbrella company for his five companies; MMX, MPX, LLX, OSX, and OGX. Each of these companies handles different division of Batista’s empire mining business and supports each other. If you look closely, you will see that Batista has something for the letter “X”. Some say that it is his superstitious side taking control as he is also known as a superstitious man. But it is actually because he projected his hope in multiple fortunes into that letter of “X” in every company he owns.
As it has been stated before, Eike Batista companies work on different yet supportive fields. OGX works in oil and gas, MPX focuses in energy, LLX works in logistics, MMX focuses in mining, and OSX which works on offshore service and equipment.
Eike Batista did not build his empire easy. There were struggle and sacrifices to make. He did start a small gold mining company when he found a rich source of gold mine in Amazon. However, it was not until he earned some money from his work in a Canadian mining company he could expand his Eike Batista company.
His main motives for all his hard work are to achieve his dreams to be the richest man on the planet and to bring glory to his homeland, especially the city of Rio de Janeiro. Until now, he is on track for his first goal, considering he is now the eighth richest person in the world.
His second goal is a bit harder to achieve but not necessarily impossible. Right now, he is gearing up to polish the city to host 2014 Football World Cup by spending his fortunes for building up hospitals, renovating hotels, and cleaning up Rodrigo de Frietas lagoon. His persistent stays true and maybe even ends up with good result just like when he build Eike Batista company, EBX.
